PLATES USED IN PRINTING
For the production of The Map Stamp, the Colours were printed using 3 Plates.
Black Plates - The land masses and the frame surround as wll as the stamp basics were printed from a Black Plate.
Red Plate -The Red used to denote the British Empire and the various Island Groups utilized a Red Plate.
Blue Plate - The Ocean Colours were completed with a Blue Plate.
The Black Plate required the production of 5 plates, with plates 1,2,3 & 5 being used for the production runs,
while Plate 4 was only used to produce a proof copy and was then retired.
There were two Red Plates used- which have been defined as Plate A & Plate B
There was only one Blue Plate
PLATING PUBLICATIONS
There has been a New Publication completed by Ken Kershaw updating previous publications on the topic of Plating the MAP STAMP.

This publication also features the work of the co-authorRoger Boisclair relating to Plate IV especially.
Prior related publications were done by Tomlinson (1954) and Bradley (1989).
